Winter Performance Writer's Intensive

"From the Page to the Stage in One Exciting Weekend!"
Calling all playwrights, screenwriters, pod-casters, story-tellers, poets....all performance writers... to register your original work for the 2026 Winter Performance Writers' Intensive.
February 12th to 15th on Snuneymuxw territory in downtown Nanaimo, Reconciliation Theatre brings together some of the best emerging writers in the mid-Island to workshop and showcase their original work. This event has sold out each of its first two years and a number of featured scripts have gone on to full production.
Indigenous writers are eligible for a bursary to cover registration costs.
Katlia Lafferty, Dene writer, performer and lawyer will be joining us as this years' Guest Writer, providing participants with her professional insight and mentorship. Lafferty's play "Gold", which details the Giant gold mine their poisoning of Dene water in Northwest Territory, shared the stage with "The Boy in the Treehouse" in Victoria, and RTS is delighted to bring her to Nanaimo.
